Part-time custodian

Two evenings per week, 5:30-8:30 pm

Lead Custodian Job Summary:

The Custodian will clean and maintain the church and day care facilities.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out the trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces. Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpet. Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and sanitize disposables (soap) Wipe mirrors and windows Maintain outer premises, cleaning entrances Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks, changing light bulks Report major damage to the Trustees Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors and closing windows Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc. Set up the Fellowship Hall for fellowship time Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:

18 years of age Completion of background and all new hire forms Proven experience as a custodian, janitor or in a similar role Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components Familiarity with basic handyman practices Attention to detail and conscientiousness Ability to lift 25 pounds; requires walking, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion High school diploma preferred
