Part Time Dog Kennel Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our team. You will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all canines receive the highest standard of care while also assisting with customer service needs. The current opening is for 19.5-22.5 hours per week. We are ideally looking for someone who can fill the following shifts: Thursday 1:30/2:30PM-9:00PM Friday 1:30/2:30PM-9:00PM Saturday 1:30/2:30PM-9:00PM There can be slight flexibility on the days worked for the right candidate. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs. Maintain cleanliness in the kennel area by regularly cleaning and sanitizing kennels, common areas, bathroom and equipment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed. Support dog training activities by reinforcing basic commands and socializing pets. Perform heavy lifting as required when moving animals or supplies. Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive environment for both dogs and staff. Qualifications Previous experience in animal care is preferred but not required. Knowledge of kennel operations, dog handling techniques, and animal behavior is an asset. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with animal care. Experience in animal restraint techniques is a plus. Familiarity with pet grooming practices is desirable but not mandatory.
