Good Dog Pet Training, Mahwah NJ Schedule:
Part-Time | Monday-Friday | Afternoon & Evening Shifts (Facility open until 6:30 PM) Are you passionate about dogs and interested in learning more about behavior and training? We are looking for a motivated, reliable team member to join our Day Training Program. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with dogs, wants hands-on experience in behavior and training, and is interested in growing their skills under the guidance of experienced trainers. As your knowledge of dog behavior and handling skills develop, you will have increasing opportunities to work directly with dogs in training sessions and behavior modification programs. Responsibilities Safely walk and handle dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments Supervise and facilitate appropriately matched playgroups Assist with enrichment activities, basic manners training, and day training exercises Help maintain a clean and safe environment by cleaning indoor and outdoor dog areas Support trainers during daycare training groups and behavior-focused activities Monitor dog behavior and communicate observations to trainers Assist with general care and management of dogs enrolled in our programs What You'll Learn Employees have the unique opportunity to observe and participate in the assessment, training, and behavior modification of dogs with a wide range of challenges, including: Reactivity and aggression Anxiety and fear-related behaviors Impulse control and general manners Social skills and playgroup management You will gain valuable hands-on experience in dog behavior, training techniques, enrichment, and behavior modification while working alongside experienced professionals. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older At least 2 years of dog handling experience preferred Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn Strong communication and teamwork skills Job Type - Part-Time If you're looking for an opportunity to expand your knowledge of dog behavior and training while making a difference in dogs' lives, we'd love to hear from you.
