Looking to start a hands-on career where your work helps keep Oakland County's fleet running safely and efficiently every day? The Garage Service Attendant plays an important role in supporting County operations by maintaining and servicing vehicles used across multiple departments. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, staying active, and being part of a team-oriented environment. What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and service tasks on County-owned vehicles including oil changes, lubrication, fueling, tire repair and replacement, and vehicle cleaning
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe garage and facility environment
- Monitor vehicle conditions and report mechanical concerns or defects to higher-level garage personnel
- Maintain accurate records of services completed and vehicle maintenance activities
- Respond to emergency road service calls as needed
- Support fleet readiness to ensure County departments can continue serving the community effectively
- Utilize Countywide and department-specific software systems to complete daily assignments and documentation
- Work collaboratively with garage staff and support operations across various shifts, including weekends if needed
- Work a consistent afternoon shift schedule of 3:30 p.m. to midnight Why You'll Love It

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Have passed their 18th birthday. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license. Out of Country driver's license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver's license before the hire date. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for this classification. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
