Job Description

The Luxemburg-Casco School District is seeking Two (2) Part Time Lead Instructors for its Spartan Sprouts Program. This position will be for 4.5 hours a day (22.5 hours a week), Monday-Friday based on the school calendar. Hours will be 7:00-11:30 OR 11:00-3:30. Position Summary The Part Time Lead Teacher for Spartan Sprouts will design and implement a high-quality, play-based early learning experience for young children in a nurturing, inclusive environment. This role focuses on supporting children's social-emotional development, early learning skills, and confidence. The Lead Teacher will foster a welcoming classroom where children of all abilities learn and grow together while building strong partnerships with families. Program Overview Spartan Sprouts is an early learning program located within the Luxemburg-Casco Primary School. The program provides a developmentally appropriate, play-based introduction to school for young learners, emphasizing social engagement, inclusion, and foundational skill development. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Environment
  • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences aligned with early childhood best practices
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
  • Support children's social-emotional growth, independence, and positive peer interactions Collaboration & Family Engagement
  • Build strong, positive relationships with families through regular communication
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff, including the other lead instructor, paraprofessional, and special education staff
  • Work with other district staff to support potential partnerships or learning opportunities for high school students interested in early childhood education Program Development & Leadership
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Spartan Sprouts program
  • Maintain program structure and routines
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
  • Ensure compliance with district policies and any applicable early childhood guidelines
  • Support a structured, well-organized classroom environment Qualifications
  • Associate degree in early childhood, child development, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degrees in unrelated fields are welcome to apply
  • Experience working with young children in a preschool or early learning setting
  • Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning
  • Experience with inclusive practices and supporting diverse learners Skills & Competencies
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
  • Effective communication and collaboration with families and staff
  • Flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
