Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical administrative support, and experience working within medical offices or clinics. This role is vital in providing exceptional patient service, managing administrative tasks efficiently, and supporting smooth clinic operations. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where professionalism and compassion are paramount. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression at the front desk. Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and verification procedures. Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Moderniziing Medicine. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with excellent phone etiquette and clerical support skills. Collect and process payments, including medical collections, co-pays, and billing information. Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation and updating patient information in EMR systems. Assist with intake procedures, including gathering patient information and updating health histories. Support medical office management tasks such as filing, scanning data entry, and managing multi-line phone systems. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and coordinate appointment scheduling efficiently. Requirements Prior experience in a medical office or clinic environment with familiarity in medical administrative support roles. Knowledge of EMR systems. Strong understanding of medical terminology, and medical billing procedures. Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare guidelines is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities. Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing preferred). Ability to handle sensitive health information in compliance with HIPAA standards. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks.
