Immediately Job Description Metcalf Elementary School is seeking a dependable, positive, and student-centered Part-Time Recess Monitor to help supervise students during recess periods. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, promotes positive behavior, ensures student safety, and helps create a fun and respectful playground environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervise students during recess and other assigned outdoor activities Ensure student safety at all times and respond appropriately to playground incidents or concerns Encourage positive behavior, inclusion, and respectful interactions among students Reinforce school expectations and behavior guidelines Assist students with conflict resolution using calm and respectful communication Communicate concerns, injuries, or behavior issues to administration or teachers as needed Monitor playground equipment and report safety concerns Assist with arrival, dismissal, or other supervision duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience working with children is preferred Ability to supervise and engage large groups of elementary-aged students Positive attitude and strong communication skills Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a busy environment Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Desired Qualities Enjoys working with children Team player with a strong work ethic Promotes kindness, safety, and positive school culture Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Schedule Part-time position Salary Based on district-approved hourly rate
