Job Description

8am-8pm Part-Time Security alternating Weekend Shift Salary This is a Part-Time Non Exempt hourly position .The anticipated salary range is $ 20.00 per hour. Hiring offers will be determined based on final candidate's qualifications and experience .The hours offered are alternating weekends 8am-8pm (Sat & Sun) Position Summary The Part-Time Security is responsible for performing periodic checks of all buildings and grounds to make sure they are secured. Confirm that heat and other mechanical systems are operating. Patrol Cary Institute roadways during assigned hours. Approach visitors as necessary to assure compliance with access policy .Assist with events as needed. Complete written Security report for each shift worked Essential Responsibilities perform periodic checks of all buildings and grounds to make sure they are secured Open and close property gates as assigned Any and all other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license. Must possess a valid current NYS Security License Minimum of 1 years of experience in Security Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a safety-conscious environment. National parks or wildlife experience a plus Required Skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and safety awareness. Working Conditions Ability to work extended hours, 12 hours per day. Ability to sit, stand, walk, for long periods. Exposure to extreme temperatures Requires crouching, bending, kneeling, stopping, reaching, climbing Requires hearing and visual acuity. Safety and Hazards Exposure to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, combustibles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Must follow safety precautions and OSHA regulations.
