Guaranteed 20 hours per week Split shift schedule: Morning support: approximately 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM Afternoon/evening support: approximately 3:00 PM to 4:45 PM Potential for additional hours in the summer
Start:
ASAP A Collegeville-based family is seeking a skilled, behaviorally-trained Special Needs Caregiver / Behavioral Support Nanny to support their 18-year-old son. The role focuses on structured daily transitions, behavioral support, and assistance with routines, medical needs, and independence-building activities in alignment with established care plans. About the Family The family is seeking support for their 18-year-old son who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Developmental Disability, and Severe Oral Motor Apraxia. He communicates using an iPad-based AAC device (Touch Chat) and responds best to structured routines and visual supports. He enjoys Star Wars, YouTube, and bike riding. The role requires consistency, structure, and a strong understanding of behavioral and developmental support needs. Responsibilities Support morning and afternoon/evening daily transitions Guide evening routines including dinner, shower, and bedtime prep using written checklists to promote independence Administer evening medications and follow a strict Lactose-Free, Low FODMAP diet Monitor and support cecostomy tube care requirements Implement evidence-based behavioral strategies to manage resistance and self-injurious behaviors, particularly when triggered by illness or discomfort Work in alignment with established ABA, Speech, and Occupational Therapy goals Assist with household tasks as needed to fulfill the guaranteed 20-hour weekly schedule What We're Looking For Experience supporting individuals with autism and developmental disabilities Strong ability to work with structured routines and visual supports High patience, reliability, and consistency Ability to interpret and respond to non-verbal communication Comfort working within medically complex care needs and behavioral support plans Experience Requirements Prior experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or substantial ABA experience strongly preferred Proficiency with AAC devices required Experience with medical care tasks including tube management and medication administration required Current CPR and First Aid certification required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required (community-based activities are part of the role) Why This Role Stands Out Guaranteed 20 hours per week Structured split-shift schedule supporting work-life predictability Opportunity for additional summer hours Clear behavioral, therapeutic, and medical support framework in place Meaningful, hands-on role supporting independence and daily living skills development How to Apply Send your resume to recruiting@balancedbabysitting.com.
