RESPONSIBILITIES

General Aptly perform all assigned yard & shop technician daily duties. Participate in quarterly conversations and annual reviews with Supervisor based on EOS principles. Attend required meetings on time. Properly prioritize all job duties for the day, as determined by the Supervisor. Flexibility to modify your job schedule based on the external or internal customer's needs and changing work orders. Assist the Supervisor proactively plan for future needs or emergencies. Ensure the correct number of units are ready to fulfill the required units for delivery. Receive all delivered supplies and equipment to the yard and shop Adhere to all safety rules; help to make all properties safe and clean Perform all other duties as needed or requested to ensure the overall success of Walters Services, Inc., such as moving equipment, performing service/delivery routes, upkeep of company roads, etc. Cleaning and Maintenance of All Company Portable Toilet Units (includes sinks, deluxe units, showers units, tow behind units, hand sanitizer trees, etc.) Perform the cleaning, washing, repairing, and overall maintenance of all of the portable toilet units, following all SOPs and Core Processes Help unload and load units on and off delivery or service trucks, mostly using the loader Organize and label the yard for unit storage and ease of access and efficiency; ensure delivery worthy units are easily accessible Troubleshoot any and all portable toilet unit issues and solve pertinently Seek for constant improvements in efficiency and quality in this whole process Manage the large water holding tank at the back of the shop; pump out when necessary Manage the freshwater and saltwater (brine mix) in the shop; mix the brine mix, when necessary; be aware of varying needs depending on the season Landscaping and Property & Building Management Perform assigned landscaping, property and building maintenance duties, including snow removal, grounds maintenance, equipment failure (such as the forklift), plumbing, electrical work, etc. When necessary, work with outside vendors to repair any issues that you or your fellow technicians are not capable or equipped to repair Organize and label all supplies, materials, tools, chemicals, etc in the yard and shop; safety, cleanliness and ease of access are top priorities

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent A valid Driver License, unless otherwise specified Possess valid Department of Transportation (DOT) physical card (or able to obtain) Must be twenty-one (21) years of age Experience Previous successful driving, building maintenance, landscaping, and unit management experience Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Strong pre-planning and organizational skills Effective verbal and written communication, flexibility, decision-making, multitasking, and interpersonal skills Some computer skills, including emails and spreadsheets. Strong decision making and problem solving skills Ability to prioritize your work and maintain strict schedule deadlines Ability to work in a team environment Self-starter, the ability to function with minimal supervision and handle a busy working environment The ability to work well with others and address situations as they arise in a professional and diplomatic manner Confidentiality with company and personnel information Mechanically inclined, with the ability to understand and repair faulty portable toilets and sinks, plumbing and building issues, equipment failures, etc Work Environment The Yard & Shop Technician will be exposed to outside varying temperatures and weather conditions, hot, cold, wet, and humid with exposure to moderate to very loud noise; and shall work in the shop and yard, but mostly in a field environment depending on the required daily activities. The Yard & Shop Technician will be required to move mechanical parts, and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The Yard & Shop Technician must adhere to all safety protocols. Physical Demands The Yard & Shop Technician must have a full range of bodily motion as much standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, typing, grasping, climbing, and descending stairs and truck constantly, and the ability to carry up to 50 pounds, and assisted safe lifting of larger items up to 80 pounds, using the appropriate lifts, and equipment. Mental This position requires analytical reasoning, the ability to calmly and professionally reason and deal with problems involving simple and concrete variables. Language requirements must be able to communicate clearly at all business levels. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a Part- Time position.
