Locums - Wellington, Florida, Pathologist Job Opportunity We are seeking a Board-Certified AP/CP Pathologist for locum tenens coverage at a hospital-based practice in Wellington, Florida.

Coverage Dates May 18-22, 2026 June 1-5, 2026

Clinical DetailsWork Setting:

Hospital-based with temporary privileges available

Case Volume:

Approximately 8,000 combined surgical and cytology cases annually, shared between two pathologists

Case Mix:

General surgical pathology sign-out Cytology review, including high-volume thyroid fine needle aspiration (FNA) cases Frozen section interpretation Gross examination of surgical specimens Workflow & SupportThe department operates under a shared coverage model where pathologists collaborate to manage workflow and maintain efficient turnaround times. Grossing support is integral to the department's workflow, with strong emphasis on specimen processing efficiency.

The pathology team includes laboratory technologists and dedicated support staff who work collaboratively to ensure appropriate case distribution and comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) Proficient in surgical pathology sign-out and cytology Experience with thyroid FNA interpretation preferred Comfortable with frozen sections and gross examination
