The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth patient registration process, facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in various electronic medical record (EMR) systems, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Switchboard coverage. Greet patients upon arrival and assist with the registration process. Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and demographic data. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information. Utilize EMR systems to input and manage patient data. Perform insurance verification and document any discrepancies for resolution. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before filing in medical records. Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems. Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to enhance the patient experience. Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management, and care plans is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills are required. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are necessary for effective communication with patients and staff.
