Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support end-to-end payroll processing within a large, multi-state organization. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll across both union and non-union populations while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of payroll processes, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies in a fast-paced environment. 7-month contract with extensions Key Responsibilities Process payroll end-to-end for multi-frequency payroll cycles Audit and reconcile HR and payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including multi-state payroll requirements Reconcile payroll integrations, bank files, and related systems Manage employee garnishments, ensuring timely and compliant setup and processing Generate ad hoc payroll reports for internal stakeholders as needed Respond to employee payroll inquiries, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner Stay up to date on payroll regulations and compliance requirements Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT teams to support payroll operations Support system testing for upgrades, enhancements, and tax updates Assist with special projects and process improvements as needed Must-Have Qualifications 3+ years of payroll experience in a large, complex organization Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy Intermediate Excel skills (data review, reconciliation, reporting) Understanding of payroll processes and how they align with HR policies/programs Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Strong customer service mindset Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or another large HCM system Exposure to union payroll environments (highly preferred but not required) Flexibility to support SAP-related projects or system initiatives Plusses Knowledge of payroll accounting principles Familiarity with wage and hour laws and SOX compliance Experience working in multi-state payroll environments
