Duties Process employee payroll using various payroll software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian to ensure timely and accurate compensation. Perform data entry for payroll transactions, including hours worked, bonuses, deductions, and benefits contributions with high accuracy. Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, ensuring all debits and credits align correctly. Manage benefits administration tasks related to payroll, including tracking enrollments and processing changes in HRIS systems. Conduct account reconciliations and verify journal entries related to payroll expenses and liabilities. Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes linked to employee reimbursements or vendor payments. Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and compliance documentation for audits or reporting purposes. Support non-profit or governmental accounting procedures as needed while adhering to specific regulatory requirements. Collaborate with human resources to ensure accurate employee data updates and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly. Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks or other financial tools for bookkeeping tasks related to payroll activities. Experience Proven experience working with payroll management software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft or Ceridian is highly preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation. Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll taxes and benefits is essential. Demonstrated ability in data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills) and attention to detail. Knowledge of human resources systems (HRIS) for benefits administration and employee data management. Experience in governmental or non-profit accounting environments is a plus. Ability to analyze financial data effectively using analysis skills for troubleshooting discrepancies or reporting issues. Basic understanding of technical accounting concepts such as account reconciliation and general ledger accounting practices.
