Payroll Manager About the Company Our client is a well-established and growing organization in the Suffern, NY area seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll operations. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team and take ownership of a critical function within the organization. Position Overview The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role will also focus on process improvements, system optimization, and maintaining strong internal controls. Key Responsibilities Oversee full-cycle payroll processing (weekly, biweekly, or semi-monthly) for multi-state employees Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations Manage payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and year-end processes (W-2s, 1099s) Review and approve payroll reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations Maintain and improve payroll systems, processes, and internal controls Partner with HR on employee data changes, benefits deductions, and compliance matters Handle payroll audits and respond to internal/external audit requests Supervise and mentor payroll staff (if applicable) Stay current on payroll legislation and best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field 5+ years of payroll experience, including management or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and compliance Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Preferred Qualifications Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation Experience in a mid-to-large size organization Exposure to HRIS systems and benefits administration EB-6668112939
