Onsite | Full-Time Overview A well-established manufacturing organization in the Middle Tennessee area is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end payroll operations. This role plays a critical function in ensuring accurate, compliant payroll processing while serving as a key point of contact for employee inquiries and collaborating closely with HR and Accounting. Key Responsibilities Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Maintain payroll data, including wages, deductions, taxes, and benefit contributions Prepare and submit payroll-related reports (monthly, quarterly, year-end) Provide payroll journal entries to Accounting on a weekly basis Administer 401(k) contribution files and reconciliation Manage wage garnishments and ensure proper documentation in the HRIS system Maintain accurate payroll and timekeeping records Monitor PTO, sick time, and accrual balances Oversee benefit deductions and assist with reconciliation of health insurance invoices Process employee expense reimbursements through payroll Partner with HR on sensitive items such as terminations, garnishments, and benefit adjustments Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation Assist with year-end processes including W-2s and 1099s Respond to employee payroll-related questions in a timely and professional manner Qualifications 3+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume or multi-frequency environment Full cycle payroll experience Experience with ADP required Strong Excel skills (data manipulation, reporting, etc.) - VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, formulas Experience with payroll regulations Experience with payroll reporting 401k deductions and W2 experience Skills Payroll, Payroll processing, Adp Top Skills Details Payroll,Payroll processing,Adp Additional Skills & Qualifications High attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smithville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $34.61/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
