Job Description

Payroll Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll processing experience, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to manage both union and regular office payroll accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Collect and review timecards from Union Foremen on a weekly basis Maintain and manage Union payroll Excel spreadsheets Import, export, and process payroll data accurately and timely Process weekly payroll for union employees and regular office employees Update union rates, deductions, and dues during contract increases and changes Prepare and process weekly and monthly certified payroll reports Complete and submit online certified payroll reporting Prepare and process weekly union reports and related documentation Maintain and update employee time clock systems and inputs Track employee PTO/vacation/sick days for all employees Manage company 401(k) tracking and employee/employer contributions Assist with onboarding new employees into payroll, timekeeping, and company systems Verify payroll data for accuracy, including hours worked, deductions, and job classifications Ensure compliance with union agreements, certified payroll requirements, and company policies Assist with payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly Maintain organized payroll records and documentation Qualifications Previous payroll experience required, preferably in a union/construction environment Understanding of certified payroll processing and reporting Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets Experience with payroll software and timekeeping systems Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle confidential information professionally Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines Preferred Qualifications Experience working with union payroll and prevailing wage projects Familiarity with online certified payroll systems and reporting platforms Knowledge of payroll compliance requirements and union regulations Experience managing employee benefits administration, including 401(k) tracking Schedule Full-time position Weekly payroll processing schedule Compensation Compensation based on experience and qualifications
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
