Full-Time We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with construction industry experience to join our team. Position Summary The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for a multi-state construction workforce, including field employees, union labor, and salaried staff. This role requires a strong understanding of certified payroll, prevailing wages (Davis-Bacon), union agreements, and job costing. Key Responsibilities- Process weekly payroll for field and office employees
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Manage prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting
- Track and reconcile union dues, benefits, and fringes
- Maintain accurate employee time records, including job costing and labor allocations
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and payments
- Coordinate with HR and project managers on employee status changes
- Audit payroll data for errors and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with year-end processing (W-2s, 1099s)
- Support internal and external audits as needed Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll experience , preferably in construction
- Experience with prevailing wage / certified payroll reporting (Davis-Bacon preferred)
- Knowledge of union payroll and multi-state payroll regulations
- Familiarity with job costing systems
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Foundation, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data reconciliation)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity Preferred Qualifications
