Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document medication administration accurately.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Lift and transfer residents using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as necessary.
  • Support residents in social activities and encourage participation in community events.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote a safe and positive environment.
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident living areas and common spaces.
  • Adhere to all established systems, policies, and procedures, including HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in personal care or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for their needs.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to lift and transfer residents safely using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Understanding of social work principles and the ability to provide emotional support to residents.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques for individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
