Job Description

Summary Providence Elementary School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging environment that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle choices among students. This role requires a commitment to developing students' physical skills, encouraging participation in various sports and activities, and instilling a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes students' physical, social, and emotional development. Plan and conduct engaging lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles and physical abilities. Assess and evaluate students' physical fitness levels, skills, and progress, providing constructive feedback and support. Create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and fosters teamwork. Organize and supervise physical education activities, including games, sports, and fitness programs. Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate physical education into the overall school curriculum. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and participation in physical education activities. Promote health and wellness initiatives within the school community. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in physical education. Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and accessible for all students. Requirements Bachelor's degree Valid state teaching certification in Physical Education. Experience working with elementary-aged children in a physical education or coaching capacity is preferred. Strong knowledge of physical education principles, practices, and safety protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students. Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in physical education. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
