Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in pediatric therapy, with experience supporting children across various settings. In this role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement treatment plans, assist children in developing essential skills, and promote overall well-being. Your expertise will contribute significantly to improving the quality of life for pediatric patients through personalized care and therapeutic interventions. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to pediatric patients' needs. Support children with activities of daily living (ADLs), fostering independence and functional skills. Provide therapy services in diverse environments such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, home health settings, and skilled nursing facilities. Help monitor patient progress by documenting responses to therapy interventions and communicating updates to the healthcare team. Facilitate therapeutic activities that promote motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive development in children. Assist with the management of care plans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices within pediatric occupational therapy. Engage with families and caregivers to educate them on therapy techniques and strategies for supporting their child's development at home. Requirements Certification as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant from an accredited program; current licensure or registration required. Prior experience working with pediatric populations in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home health environments preferred. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care. Familiarity with ADLs, sensory integration techniques, and developmental milestones for children. Experience supporting patients in acute care settings, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable. Strong understanding of care plans, patient care procedures, and occupational health principles related to pediatrics. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with young patients and their families effectively.
