The Expanded Medically Assisted Treatment for Inmates (EMATI)-Salem MAT Certified Peer Recovery Specialist is responsible for playing a vital role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey by providing mentorship, encouragement, and guidance. This position focuses on building positive relationships with clients, correctional staff, and community partners while educating individuals on recovery pathways and linking them to essential services.Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a role model by sharing knowledge, hope, and skills to encourage recovery. Build rapport, sustain, and maintain positive relationships with clients, correctional staff, and community partners. Conduct individual check-ins to review client progress, address concerns, and provide Peer support to assist in meeting recovery goals while in the incarceration space. Educate individuals on all pathways to recovery, treatment options, and available support systems. Link clients to community resources, including treatment programs, social services, recovery supports, and any other services to build recovery capital Actively support individuals during the treatment engagement and retention process. Assist clients with gaining, maintaining, and developing skills and tools needed to sustain recovery and achieve personal goals. Guide clients in identifying relapse triggers and coping strategies to maintain recovery. Conduct Substance Use Disorder (SUD) group sessions to provide education, support, and guidance in recovery. Maintain regular follow-up communication with clients through in-person meetings, email, or telephone contact post release to ensure continuity of care. Work closely with Case Managers to develop and review individualized treatment plans as well as address any systematic problems or concerns. Participate actively in regular both individual and group supervisions, case reviews and training to enhance service delivery. Comply with all program policies, funding requirements, and documentation timelines as outlined in the Expanded Medical Assisted Treatment of Inmates (EMATI)-Salem MAT Policy & Procedure manual.REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED or equivalent A minimum of two years of experience in the guiding principles of recovery that assist individuals to improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and reach their full potential Valid driver's license per vendor agency requirements Active Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Through the stateBenefits:
