Responsibilities Provide peer-led support by sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivation. Assist clients during crises through effective crisis intervention and crisis management techniques, ensuring safety and stabilization. Conduct behavioral health assessments and develop individualized recovery plans in collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Utilize motivational interviewing strategies to encourage engagement, goal setting, and sustained recovery efforts. Offer mentorship and behavioral health education to empower clients with coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and wellness practices. Document client interactions accurately maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations. Collaborate with social workers, addiction counselors, mental health professionals, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care. Experience Proven lived experience with mental health recovery or substance use recovery preferred; certification as a Peer Support Specialist is a plus. Demonstrated ability in crisis intervention and crisis management within behavioral health settings. Knowledge of addiction counseling, mental health counseling, social work principles, and motivational interviewing techniques. Strong mentoring skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations. Experience working in behavioral health or social services environments is highly desirable.
