POSITION SUMMARY
T he Peer Specialist Manager provides performance-based, individualized and group supervision for each Peer Support to provide direction to achieve and sustain peer support services. Supervision includes service plan reviews to determine the progress for each individual served. The Coordinator of Peer Support is responsible for modeling and problem-solving with Peer Support to develop strategies to provide culturally competent services, supports and resources for individuals with mental health symptoms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise on average 8-10 Peer Support Specialists. Assign cases to Peer Support staff. Provide supervision as required by Medicaid and/or Department of Behavioral Health. Assist in planning monthly meetings/supervision with peer support staff. Assist with ensuring peer staff are kept informed of pertinent agency information and are aware of their individual responsibilities. Monitor budget with Director of Adult Services to ensure service is financially viable. Assist in the completion of Department of Behavioral Health quarterly reporting forms. Ensure training curriculum for peer support meets requirements of DBH/DID for staff to provide peer support services. Assist in the training of new staff that provides peer support services. Assist in the training of other staff in peer support requirements and benefits, and other topics as needed. Act as a liaison for community partners and other service providers regarding all aspects of peer support, including initial investigations of complaints and grievances. Attend community meetings on behalf of LifeSkills, Inc as needed and appropriate. Provide Peer Support Services as needed. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree in a Human Services related field and three years of experience, (one of which should be providing Peer Support services preferred) OR A high school diploma and 5 years of experience providing Peer Support services preferred The ability to provide performance-based supervision and support the professional development of others Experience working with individuals who have complex behavioral health needs An understanding of and experience with different client-serving systems, including education, mental health, jail, courts, health and others An extensive knowledge of community resources Must be available during regular work hours as well as some evenings and weekends Excellent communication, organizational skills are necessary Ability to work independently Driver's license and ability to travel is required
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS
Ability to sit for extended time for meetings, documentation, and clinic services. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move within clinic and community settings. Ability travel across regional sites when assigned. Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards. Success will be evaluated on overall peer staff performance, staff development, documentation compliance, client outcomes, leadership effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals
