Job Description
This position is for an per diem Clinician position that can provide group therapy coverage when permanent staff are unable to work a shift or are on vacation. Florida Oasis is a 9 bed private residential mental health program which is the ideal setting for clinician's interested in working directly with a psychiatric population. This Mental Health Clinician position works in a relaxed paced environment, facilitates group therapy sessions, and interacts with our clinical director, nurses, and behavioral health technicians. This position is ideal for experienced clinicians that are passionate about using the modalities they believe to be most useful to impact treatment outcomes. This position is suited for someone looking to be a part of a small team, interested in working with a mental health population (instead of dual diagnosis clients or clients with addictions) or a masters level clinican that is open to growth (with an opportunity to receive supervision towards licensure). Responsibilities Provide group counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy. Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety during acute episodes. Maintain accurate medical records using ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) and CPT coding for billing purposes. Requirements Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution> Proven experience in behavioral health settings with familiarity in hospital environments preferred. Proficiency in medical terminology, mental health counseling techniques, and electronic medical records systems. Strong skills in crisis management, behavior management, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
