Performance Management Coordinator Supervisor:
Director of Human Resources General Job Description Bernalillo Public Schools is seeking a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven Performance Management Coordinator to support the development of a high-performing, accountable, and equitable workforce. This role plays a critical part in strengthening how the district supports employee growth, addresses performance concerns, and uses data to drive continuous improvement. The Performance Management Coordinator leads and supports key components of the district's performance systems, including evaluations, employee relations processes, investigations, and performance data analysis. This position works closely with the Director of Human Resources, school leaders, and district administrators to ensure that performance management practices are fair, legally sound, developmentally supportive, and aligned with district priorities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performance Management & Evaluation Systems Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of staff performance evaluation systems for licensed, classified, and administrative employees Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to redesign and refine the district's non-instructional performance evaluation framework Provide guidance and training to supervisors on evaluation tools, documentation practices, and performance conversations Review evaluations, improvement plans, and related documentation to ensure consistency, fairness, and alignment with district expectations Support supervisors in developing clear, actionable performance feedback and growth plans Employee Relations & Due Process Serve as a resource to supervisors and administrators on performance concerns, progressive discipline, grievances, and due process procedures Guide leaders in addressing performance issues through supportive, legally compliant, and developmentally appropriate practices Assist in drafting and reviewing performance-related correspondence and documentation Support the resolution of workplace conflicts in alignment with district policy, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable law Investigations & Compliance Conduct prompt, thorough, and confidential investigations into personnel matters, including but not limited to Title IX, policy violations, and workplace misconduct Prepare clear, well-documented investigative summaries and findings Collaborate with HR leadership and legal counsel to ensure appropriate, compliant follow-up actions Maintain accurate records and documentation related to investigations and employee relations matters Ensure performance management practices align with federal and state laws, board policies, and collective bargaining agreements Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement Analyze performance management data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for systemic improvement Partner with HR leadership and district teams to leverage performance data to inform professional development priorities Develop reports, summaries, and presentations that support strategic decision-making Support the district's efforts to strengthen coherence, consistency, and effectiveness across performance systems Professional Collaboration Work closely with school leaders, district administrators, and HR staff to support effective performance practices Contribute to the development of training materials, tools, and resources related to performance management Support a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous learning across the district Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources Supervisory Responsibilities None. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in performance management, employee relations, investigations, compliance, or a related area Knowledge of employment practices, due process procedures, and workplace investigations Experience using an HRIS, like iVisions or a comparable tool Experience leading workplace investigations Ability to analyze and interpret data using Excel or comparable tools Strong written communication and documentation skills Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism Ability to pass employment verification and background check Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a K-12 public school district Personnel management Experience with unionized workforces and collective bargaining agreements Experience supporting or designing performance evaluation systems, employee growth plans, and professional development Experience as a system administrator in Frontline for performance management, including data collection and and analysis HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) Bilingual or multilingual proficiency Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Deep belief that all students can learn and achieve at high levels Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to balance compliance, fairness, and developmental support in performance-related matters Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders Exceptional organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex situations Sound professional judgment and decision-making Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and other physical activity typical of a district office and school-based environment.
