Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Boise, ID; Las Vegas, NV; Los Angeles, CA Apply Save Job Late teens or early 20s. Transgender male. Although he has little screen time, Sam is the center of this story. Assigned female at birth, Sam is a character that many transgender people can identify with•he never felt comfortable in his own skin. Growing being told he was a girl in a traditional Latino family, he always assumed there was nothing he could do about it, and that he would accept it eventually. As he entered his teenage years, however, he branched out socially and realized that he could be whoever he wanted to. He could be a boy. So he did, he told his friends he was a man, and the ones that supported him stayed, while the rest left. Although this was a very hard time for Sam, he discovered the value of good friends. He created a circle that built him up for who he was, rather than tear him down. But with all the self-discovery he went through, there was still one thing that weighed on him•he hadn't told his father. Sam has his own journey of acceptance to go through.
