In this paid role, you will support the development of engaging dance and musical theater classes for children and teens, helping to foster creativity, confidence, and a love for the arts. Your energetic presence will inspire students while assisting with lesson execution, classroom management, and special projects. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in arts education, working alongside seasoned instructors in a lively, supportive environment. This is an all inclusion school. So it would require working with students with special needs. Responsibilities Assist lead instructors in delivering dynamic dance and musical theater lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels Support classroom management by maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and respect Help prepare teaching materials, costumes, props, and set pieces for performances and rehearsals Engage with students through tutoring and personalized attention to enhance their understanding of choreography, acting, singing, or stagecraft Contribute to curriculum development by suggesting creative activities that align with program goals Supervise students during breaks, rehearsals, and transition times to ensure safety and order Capture high-quality photographs of performances and classes for promotional use and student portfolios Skills Strong background in dance styles such as ballet and general choreography techniques Experience in musical theater performance or production environments Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for children and early childhood education Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to work effectively with children, including preschool or early childhood settings Ability to tutor students in dance, theater arts, or related subjects while fostering a supportive learning environment Familiarity with behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct during activities Skills in photography for documenting performances and class activities Experience with sewing or costume creation is a plus for assisting with wardrobe needs Understanding of childhood development principles and special education considerations to support diverse learners Culinary or cooking experience is beneficial for organizing healthy snacks or themed activities related to arts education This paid summer position offers a fantastic chance to develop your teaching skills while making a meaningful impact on young performers.
