Dance Instructor and Choreographer

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance, along with experience in curriculum development and classroom management. This role involves teaching various dance styles to students of all ages, fostering a love for dance while ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment. Duties Design and implement engaging dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Teach dance classes, demonstrating techniques and providing guidance to students. Manage classroom behavior effectively, creating a respectful and supportive atmosphere for learning. Develop lesson plans that incorporate various dance styles and techniques, ensuring progression in students' skills. Organize performances and recitals, coordinating with students and parents for successful events. Provide constructive feedback to students, helping them improve their technique and confidence. Collaborate with other instructors to enhance the overall dance program and share best practices. Maintain a safe and clean environment for all classes, ensuring equipment is properly stored and cared for. Skills Strong knowledge of various dance styles (ballet, jazz, hip-hop, etc.) and teaching methods. Experience in curriculum development to create effective lesson plans. Proficiency in classroom management techniques to maintain a focused learning environment. Ability to manage student behavior positively while encouraging participation. Experience working with preschool-aged children is a plus. Skills in sewing for costume design or repairs may be beneficial. Photography skills are advantageous for documenting performances or class activities. Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
