The Young Company at GBSC seeks choreographers for our Summer Festival titles: Act 2 (Grades 7-9):
Camp Rock The Musical Schedule & Calendar:
Pre-program Planning:
Saturday May 30th: 10AM-3:30PM, Saturday June 20th: 10AM-3:30PM, Wednesday July 1st: 10AM-2PM (Includes Load-in)
Program:
8:00am-3:00pm Mon-Fri (July 6th - August 16th) | Tech week schedules will differ. Exact schedule will be dependent on show title. Performances August 8th-16th
Strike:
immediately following last performance Responsibilities of the
Choreographer:
Choreograph movement for the production according to the educational parameters of the program and schedule as indicated by the theatre. Collaborate with the artistic staff to achieve the best product and highest quality possible, in keeping with the theatre's intended high standards of production. Attend all pre-program planning activities. Participate in weekly full-program planning meetings. Participate in a daily midday planning period during the four rehearsal-weeks of the program. Teach, co-teach, or assistant-teach up to two ten-session-long workshops to a group of approximately 25 participants. Workshop schedule and topics will be determined with the Education Department To be an active participant in strike for the Production. Ensure that all students and interns receive a rewarding, enjoyable and safe educational experience during their time at the program. Follow all safety protocols as indicated by the theatre.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have experience creating choreography, as well as a background in teaching students and performing theatre and/or dance. Applicants must have dance training in a variety of styles. Applicants should be strong collaborators,municators, problem-solvers andanizers. Applicants should be able to balance an inclusive educational rehearsal process and a high-quality theatrical production. Applicants should be able to remain punctual, reliable, and flexible throughout the festival process. Completed or ongoing pursuit of training in theatre, dance or education a plus. Must pass
