Job Description

Jamie Campbell's Dance Company is seeking an experienced Ballet Instructor who understands the specific demands of high-level competition dancers. This is not a traditional conservatory-style ballet position; we are looking for a teacher who knows how to adapt classical ballet technique to elevate dancers in jazz, acro, lyrical, and contemporary—the core of competitive dance. Our studio values ballet as a foundation for all movement, and we teach it seriously. However, our dancers are not training for careers in ballet companies—they're training to excel on the competition stage, where versatility, clean technique, and powerful performance are essential.
The ideal candidate:
Has extensive ballet training with professional or pre-professional experience. Understands the difference between training conservatory ballet dancers and training competition dancers. Knows how to translate ballet technique into clean lines, dynamic transitions, and performance-ready bodies for jazz, acro, and lyrical. Can collaborate with jazz and contemporary teachers to support unified technique and artistic goals. Values body awareness, alignment, and injury prevention while encouraging healthy, sustainable training habits. Can connect with dancers of all ages and abilities, bringing energy, discipline, and adaptability to each class.
What we offer:
A supportive, professional environment that respects ballet as a technical core. A forward-thinking, competition-focused curriculum that empowers dancers to excel. Opportunities to shape and grow the ballet program within a large, successful competition studio. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making ballet functional, relevant, and empowering for today's competitive dance.
