Job Description
Summary of Position
The Assistant, Theatrical Music will provide support to the Senior Vice President of the Theatrical Music Department. This position involves a mix of creative, administrative, and logical tasks. Responsibilities Manage calendars, schedule meetings
Prepare meeting materials, take notes, track follow ups
Organize and maintain files, scripts, production documents, cue sheets, reels
Arrange travel & expense reports
Read scripts and breakdown for music
Curate and organize composer reels
Organize and catalog project budgets past & present
Assist in sourcing and researching songs, composers and artists for potential use in films
Organize and catalog music submissions and audio files for easy access
Support communication between music department and other departments both internally and externally
Send out project briefs and cataloging submitted music per project
Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's Degree
Excellent organization and multitasking abilities
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Professionalism and discretion
Strong knowledge of music across genres and a good ear for matching tone and emotion
Strong interest and knowledge of social media as it relates to music trends, artists, songs
Familiarity with music licensing, copyright and publishing
Proficient in excel, Spotify & itunes, Box, Scenechronize
Experience reading & breaking down scripts for music
Prior knowledge of music licensing terminology
Knowledge of film/tv composers
Knowledge of various music genres, producers, artists
Nice to Haves 2-3 years' experience working in music supervision/licensing/agency/sync team at label or publisher
