Job Description
The Pioneer School is seeking an experienced and passionate drama instructor/director to lead our middle school theater program. The ideal candidate will work closely with students to develop their acting, singing, movement, and staging skills, and will oversee the school's participation in district and state Thespian festivals, as well as a spring play. We are also seeking a P/T troupe assistant that would support the administrative and technical aspects of the position, particularly stage management during the spring play.
Responsibilities:
Assist students in selecting age-appropriate pieces for Thespian festivals (district and state) Prepare and take the troupe to district and state FL Jr. Thespian festivals Teach acting fundamentals, movement, and voice techniques Help select, choreograph, and block musical and dramatic pieces Direct and produce a spring play for the school and local community Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment with strong classroom management & collaboration skillsQualifications:
Background in drama, theater, or related field; teaching or directing experience with middle school-age students preferred Ability to choreograph small and large group musical performances Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills Must pass a background screening Passion for working with middle school students and fostering their artistic growthSchedule:
