You will work directly with the Lead Protestant Chaplain, recruit and mentor volunteer musicians, manage worship team coordination, and create an engaging musical experience for our military congregation. This role combines performance, leadership, and volunteer management in a service-oriented setting.

Part-Time, Contracted Position Key Responsibilities Lead and perform at 52 weekly Protestant Sunday morning worship services Conduct 56 annual rehearsals with volunteer musicians (frequency/duration determined with Lead Chaplain) Direct special holiday services: Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter Sunrise Service, and Ash Wednesday Provide music leadership for memorial and funeral services as needed (estimated 5 annually) Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer musicians (choir members, praise team, instrumentalists) Coordinate with Lead Protestant Chaplain on worship themes, music selection, and volunteer needs Prepare and coordinate worship presentation slides using PowerPoint Lead rehearsals during chapel business hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM) Required Qualifications Be proficient on the guitar and piano, and must be able to sight-read hymns, contemporary, and praise music, both harmonics and rhythms, and be well-versed in a variety of musical styles. Christian hymns, praise music, contemporary songs, and liturgical songs will be selected for worship. Demonstrate a high level of musical skill and the ability to lead musicians, choral groups, and singers in the respective worship services. Possess the ability to lead and/or accompany worship by singing and playing the guitar or piano at the same time. This person must demonstrate a familiarity with the commitment to the Protestant Christian faith. Possess the ability to maintain professional standards of conduct and public decorum. Possess an associate degree in music or equivalent musical education level. A minimum of three years of recent experience as a music director and instrumentalist in a church environment. Have a breadth and depth of knowledge necessary to accomplish the weekly support of the Protestant Worship Service. Must be willing to provide the following for official records resume including academic and work-related references and letter of good standing from a constitutionally recognized religious faith body Applicant is subject to a positive background investigation.
