Musical Pit Director The Brockton High School Drama Club is seeking a skilled and collaborative Pit Director for our upcoming musical production. This role is ideal for a skilled musician-conductor who enjoys working with both professional and student performers in an educational theatre setting. Responsibilities

• Recruit, audition (if necessary), hire, and contract pit orchestra musicians
• Work effectively with a mix of professional and student musicians
• Prepare and rehearse the pit orchestra, ensuring musical accuracy and cohesion
• Lead all pit orchestra rehearsals, including: oPit Orchestra Rehearsals (scheduled by Pit Director) oOne full-day rehearsal (date determined by the Drama Club Director) oOne dress rehearsal oAll performances (three shows)
• Collaborate closely with the Drama Club Director, Vocal Director, stage management, and production team
• Assist in judging vocal auditions
• Prepare tracks for dance rehearsals
• Assist the Drama Director the week of April Vacation by bringing in student performers to test vocals with instruments
• Deliver and collect all rented books and materials
• Attend production meetings as needed
• Ensure the pit orchestra is fully prepared to support singers and staging Qualifications
• Strong conducting and musical leadership skills
• Experience directing or performing with pit orchestras for musical theatre productions preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a school or educational environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience working with student musicians preferred

Compensation:

$2,000 per
