Assistant Director Brockton High School is seeking a motivated and skilled Marching Band Assistant Director to support the instruction, preparation, and performance of the BHS Marching Band. This position works closely with the Marching Band Director and student leadership to ensure a high-quality musical and visual program. Key Responsibilities Assist with rehearsals and instruction for the marching band during: Summer band camp Afterschool rehearsals Football games and parades Support musical and visual instruction, including fundamentals, ensemble performance, and choreography. Collaborate with the Band Director and student leaders to enhance overall performance quality. Assume leadership of rehearsals, performances, and student supervision in the Director's absence. Assist in creating and teaching choreography and drill, as needed. Help manage and maintain equipment and instruments. Assist with uniform fitting and distribution for all marching band members. Support rehearsal preparation, including: Copying and scanning music Organizing materials Assisting with logistics and setup Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined environment for student musicians. Time Commitment Approximately 175-200 hours of work from June through November An additional 10 hours per year for equipment management, uniform fitting, and rehearsal preparation Preferred Qualifications Experience working with a marching band or similar performing ensemble Strong musical background and knowledge of marching techniques Ability to work collaboratively as part of a directing staff Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Enthusiasm for working with high school musiciansStipend:
