  • Part-time We are searching for a Choir Director whose life overflows with an authentic love of Jesus and leading others in times of worship.
Job Summary :
The position of Choir Director will be a staff program position by Centreville Methodist Church (CMC). This position requires a minimum of approximately three hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications :
Two years of successful experience in music ministry and/or choral directing preferred.
Purpose:
Direct the choir for traditional service at CMC as well as special services.
Accountability:
Be accountable to the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC), who monitor progress and conduct bi-annual performance evaluations. There will be a three-month probation period. Essential Functions Work with soloists, ensembles and instrumentalists, as interest indicates, regarding selection and appropriateness of their music for the traditional service. Direct the Adult Choir and Instrumental Ensembles. Lead the congregational singing. Coordinate the schedule of worship service accompanists and special music (Summer special music and special occasions), and secure replacements in their absences, maintaining an updated list of available and qualified organists. Submit information regarding the church service weekly to the Office Manager. Serve as a member of the Worship Committee. Work with the Audio Visional Coordinator as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor. Attend annual local Church Conference.
Other Essentials :
One year, renewable annually, following the probation period. Three months' notice required prior to departure.
Additional Skills:
Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

                Cooperation & Teamwork:
                Work harmoniously with others and respond positively to instructions and procedures; be able to work well with pastor, staff, and volunteers. Help set a tone of cooperation, coordinate work with others; seek opinions, and value working relationships. Convey a positive image with actions and speech relating to others and the church.
