Job Description

Position Summary:
Westwinds is a church for anyone—which means we're always working to create spaces where students feel welcomed, known, and free to explore a life with Jesus at the center. As our Students Director, your primary goal is to help middle & high school school students know they belong—to Jesus, to each other, and to our church family. At Westwinds, we don't believe church is something you attend—it's something we practice together. That includes our students.

The Students Director helps shape a generation of young people who are learning to follow Jesus, experience grace, and practice belonging. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sunday Mornings (School Year Only) Lead or support a weekly connection point for middle & high school students Create space for students to ask questions, build friendships, and engage with their faith in real ways Coordinate volunteers and simple activities that help students feel known and included Summer Season Focus on connection and integration of new students and students moving into a new age group Plan a few social events or informal gatherings to keep community strong while Sunday programs are paused Community & Connection Build and maintain real relationships with students (and families when helpful) Be a consistent, trustworthy adult in their lives Encourage peer connection and help students feel seen and supported Special Events Host a few fun, low-pressure social events throughout the year (game nights, bonfires, outings, etc.) Collaborate with the students and volunteers for larger youth events when needed Annual or Bi-annual intensive experiences like camp, retreat, or serving trip Position Requirements A love for Jesus and a heart for students A commitment to hospitality—making space for students no matter where they are on their faith journey Reliability, empathy, and a sense of humor A desire to embody Westwinds' marks: Ecumenical, Centered, and Here Previous experience with students is helpful but not required Team-oriented approach to leading from a position of servanthood and humility.
Physical Demands:
Frequent interruptions that require the ability to multitask, change priorities, and refocus on the task at hand. Climbing, carrying, reaching, stretching to construct design elements both onsite and offsite to enhance opportunities for connectedness and engagement.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
