To Be Determined Job Description Pleasant Hope R-VI School District has an opening for a 7-12 Band/Choir Director for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is a stipend position and will be held in conjunction with the 7-12 Music/Band/Vocal teacher position. Pleasant Hope offers a 4-day school week (Tuesday-Friday), competitive salary, full health benefits, and a family like working atmosphere. The successful candidate will have a valid Missouri teaching certificate, an understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards, a desire to work collaboratively as a team member in a Professional Learning Community, and the ability to effectively integrate technology in the classroom. POSITION SUMMARY:
The 7-12 Instrumental (Band) Director Stipend is a full school term stipend includes high school and middle school band.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Requires traveling between the Middle School and the High School. Creates a music room that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students. Prepares and provides weekly lesson plans for all classes. Supervise duties as scheduled by the administrator. Develops an updated inventory list of all instruments, equipment and class materials. Develop and update music media pages. Organizes and implements public performances (concerts, football and basketball games, parades) throughout the school year that will involve evenings and weekend participation; this includes at least one instrumental (band) music performance per year for both the middle and high school. Organizes and implements local, district and state performances in both instrumental music festivals and competitions that will include evening and weekend participation. Organizes and attends with participating students in local, district and state music festivals and honor groups that will include evening and weekend participation. Organizes and submits itineraries associated with all music activities to both principals and parents of those participating. Makes themselves available for before and after school extra tutoring and rehearsals.POSITION
