Role:
Greenville Montessori School is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Band Director to lead our Upper Elementary band program. If you are passionate about music education and excited to inspire young musicians, we invite you to apply for this part-time position. As Band Director, you will guide a group of thirteen students, fostering teamwork, creativity, and a lifelong love for music. Candidates should have high integrity, good judgment, and enthusiasm for lifelong learning. A positive outlook, patience, and the ability to encourage children are essential. As our Band Director, you will: Lead our vibrant band of 5th and 6th grade students in how to play and care for their instruments, read music, understand music theory, and perform as a group. Inspire teamwork, confidence, and musical expression. Showcase student talent and achievements through band performances at school community events. Collaborate with dedicated educators to ensure a holistic learning experience for every child. Make a lasting impact on students' musical and personal development, helping them cultivate a deep appreciation for music.
Required Qualifications:
Enthusiasm for music education and experience leading young musicians. Experience with leading band ensembles, preferably for students in grades 5-6. Strong classroom management skills that promote cooperation, self-discipline, and respect. A collaborative mindset and the ability to contribute to a supportive educational community.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching in a Montessori or similar educational environment. Strong knowledge of music theory, performance techniques, and band ensemble management. A passion for nurturing young talent and creating memorable musical experiences. Who Are We? Greenville Montessori School is a 44-year-old, non-profit, independent school.
