MUSICAL THEATRE ROLE PREP WORKSHOP
you will be assigned a role from a musical that you are right for, from a list that you have provided to Jamibeth & Andrew. You will fully explore your character and work on text or sides and a FULL solo song. It will focus specifically on the acting challenges particular to musical theater, with emphasis on deepening character & objectives, vocal technique & style, and physicality. On the final night you will have the opportunity to present for a Special Guest Agent/Manager and receive feedback.
SPECIAL CLASS FEATURES
Once you sign up and confirm your slot in the class, you will have a chance to email your preferences of roles you're interested in exploring to Jamibeth and Andrew. You will be choosing your role and song in collaboration with us. You will work on a Full Song (not a cut!) and also be given text to work on when it exists in the show and is appropriate. Sheet music and text will be provided. This class is designed to prepare you for the many callbacks w you will be asked to prepare sides and a song for a specific role. This class is limited to 12 performers. Each performer will have one 30-minute work session either in Class 1 or Class 2. During Class 3, all students will have a short session with Jamibeth & Andrew, and then present for the Guest Agent/Manager and receive feedback. Please attend all classes to observe others' work.•
Time:
ALL Classes will be 7-10p. Class 1: TUESDAY, June 2nd. (Group A/6 people work.) Class 2: WEDNESDAY, June 3rd. (Group B/6 people work.) Class 3: TUESDAY, June 9th. (All students will work briefly with Jamibeth & Andrew, and then present for the Guest Agent/Manager and receive feedback.)
Location:
Midtown Studio TBA.
Limit:
12 Students per night.

BIOS:
JAMIBETH MARGOLIS
has been casting in NYC for 20+ years. She runs her own casting office and also works as a stage director. She previously served as casting director for many of Broadway's longest running shows such as
CATS, LES MISERABLES, MISS SAIGON, PHANTOM OF THE
OPERA and more. Last season, Jamibeth cast HARMONY on Broadway.
