Job Description

Job Summary Evergreen Church is seeking a part-time Worship Director to provide leadership for Sunday worship. We are a small church located between Ada and Lowell. We are going through a revitalization process currently and want the Worship Director to be able to start no later than September 1 for our Fall Kickoff. This role helps create worship gatherings that are thoughtful, welcoming, spiritually meaningful, and free from unnecessary distraction. The Worship Director will work closely with the pastors to plan worship services, lead and develop volunteers, and lead the worship during the Sunday morning service. Evergreen Church exists to Connect People to God and each Other , and we are looking for someone who can help shape worship experiences that reflect that mission with creativity, humility, excellence, and care. About the Role The Worship Director will lead in at least two primary areas: 1. Worship Leading & Planning This person will plan and lead Sunday worship in alignment with sermon themes, the liturgical season, and the values of Evergreen Church. The Worship Director will work with the Associate Pastor to produce the accompanying slides in ProPresenter. The Worship Director will regularly lead worship on Sunday mornings while also developing additional worship leaders over time. 2. Worship Team Development This role includes recruiting, training, scheduling, equipping, and caring for musicians and vocalists. The Worship Director will lead weekly rehearsals that are prepared, encouraging, and musically effective, while cultivating a worship culture marked by humility, collaboration, excellence, and spiritual attentiveness. Other areas could be available depending on the abilities and availability of the candidate (for instance, working with the youth). Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have: Experience leading worship in a church or ministry context Be comfortable playing guitar or piano Ability to recruit, train, lead, and care for volunteers Ability to plan ahead while remaining flexible in a ministry environment Comfortable using tools such as ProPresenter, Song Select Alignment with Evergreen Church's mission, values, and worship culture Schedule & Hours This is a part-time position with room to expand depending on ability and availability. At a minimum, five hours would be needed for time during the service and rehearsals and essential preparations for both. If the candidate was willing and able to also work with our youth and other areas then we would look at the possibility of paying up to 25 hours a week. Compensation Compensation will be discussed during the interview process and will be based on experience, responsibilities, and fit for the role.
