JOB TITLE:
ASSISTANT DRAMA
REQUIREMENTS:
Education level: Bachelor's degree preferred Experience desired: Degree or course work in theatre desired. Experience in high school, college, community and/or professional theatre. Physical requirements: Hand-eye, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, intermittent repetitive motions with the wrists, the ability to bent, stoop, walk, talk, and sit. The ability to travel between locations. Other requirements: Willingness to commit large amounts of time to produce a play. (Average is approximately 18 hours per week for 5-6 ) Must be knowledgeable of current trends in theatre.REPORTS TO

Principal/Activities DirectorESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Assists in the choice of play for production. Works in conjunction with play director in determining the cast and appropriate scenes for auditions. Operates within the policies of the Dakota 12 Conference and the SDHSAA. Maintains a staff relationship with other play personal. Assists with fundraising activities as needed. Assists in preparing the rehearsal schedule. Assists in the technical aspects of the show (set , lights, sound, costumes, make-up, etc.) Assists in the interpretation of the show with the actors and technical people. Assists in rehearsals. Assists with publicity design—posters, tickets, programs, etc. Meets with the director and the Activities Director on all items of travel, budget, standards, calendar and schedules. Performs all other duties as assigned by the principal.WORKING CONDITIONS
Inside Outside Both XXX Climatic environment: Often subjected to extremes of cold below 32 degrees and heat above 100 degrees. Occasionally subjected to extreme noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation.Hazards:
Prepares actors to work safely in a stage environment, e.g. break away props, falls, etc.. Work year: Extra duty/extra pay positions are for a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Duties of the position may be performed any time during that time period depending upon the position/season.Position Type:
