Assistant Band Director

Primary Purpose:

Assist the director with managing the instrumental music and band program at assigned campus. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth and provide an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or universityValid Texas teaching certificateDemonstrated competency in instrumental music

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music programKnowledge of curriculum and instructionKnowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rulesAbility to develop budgets and manage fundsAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorAbility to interpret dataStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
