Position Summary With professional leadership, the Worship & Music Director directs and nurtures spiritual experiences that glorify God and engage the congregation and expands the church's existing music ministry. This role combines musical excellence with administrative leadership supporting all aspects of the church's robust music programs during regular worship on Sundays and for special occasions. The Director works closely with the Pastor, staff, and Worship & Music Team to create these meaningful worship experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Worship Leadership & Accompaniment a. Work with pastors and worship leaders to select music that supports sermon themes and liturgical seasons, lifting up music to enhance the teachings of Christ b. Plan, prepare and provide music for regular and special worship services (Advent, Lent, Easter, Christmas, weddings, funerals, etc.) c. Recruit congregational participation in music and worship groups and provide opportunities across all age groups d. Accompany and help direct vocal/instrumental groups during worship services and rehearsals 2. Program Development a. Develop and maintain a robust, diverse music program that includes traditional, contemporary and blended worship styles b. Establish and direct other musical worship group opportunities (e.g. children, youth, group ensembles, etc.) c. Organize and oversee guest musicians and special music events throughout the year 3. Administration & Supervision a. Set the Music Calendar in collaboration with church staff b. Schedule rehearsals, maintain music library and instruments, coordinate technology and sound needs c. Contact and schedule special music artists, including organists d. Prepare and manage the music ministry budget e. Ensure compliance with music copyright and licensing requirements f. Supervise all music staff, including the Adult Choir Director and Joyful Noise Director. g. Maintain regular office hours and attend staff meetings.

Qualifications:

Faith:

Is a professed Christian of sincere faith, seeking to grow in discipleship, has a love of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and is seeking to live a life commensurate with this faith.

Musical Proficiency:

Must be a skilled pianist with accompaniment experience in a performance setting

Leadership:

Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and lead volunteer musicians.

Organization:

Strong organizational skills to manage the music calendar and schedule special guest musicians.

Collaboration:

Ability to work positively and collaboratively with other musicians, staff members, members of the church and community.
