Jobs › Worcester, MA › Church Sexton All Saints Episcopal Church Church Sexton Worcester, MA Apply Church Sexton Job Description Part-Time (25hrs per week, Sundays are a must) The Church Sexton is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and physical upkeep of the church building, rectory, and grounds. This part-time role requires a dependable, knowledgeable individual who takes pride in supporting a welcoming environment for worship, community programs, and special events. The Sexton works closely with parish staff and assists outside vendors and contractors as needed. Responsibilities \~ The sexton performs routine maintenance tasks and identifies issues that require professional contractors. They also maintain the grounds mowing, snow removal: shoveling and salting walkways, leaf cleanup, and general landscaping upkeep. \~ Set up and break down furniture, audio/visual equipment, and d?cor for worship services, weddings, funerals, memorial services, meetings, and community events. They coordinate with clergy and event organizers to ensure spaces are ready on time. \~ Track and order cleaning supplies, paper goods, and basic maintenance materials. Qualifications Experience in custodial work or building maintenance is (generally) expected. This role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, reliability, discretion, and a respectful understanding of the church environment.
