Rotating schedules will be required for Friday evenings and Saturdays. Student Assistants will be expected to provide excellent customer service, calibrate virtual reality (VR) equipment and systems, and quality-test virtual reality (VR) experiences. Assistants must be outgoing, upbeat and eager to provide participants with exceptional experiences. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Ensure impactful and memorable VR experiences for students and guests Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for all Carry out daily operations in the Center for Immersive Learning Provide extended periods of focused attention on time-sensitive tasks Guide participants through virtual reality experiences from beginning to end Assist students and guests with putting on and taking off VR gear, giving directions in a clear and friendly manner Assist in troubleshooting VR equipment Assist CIL staff with special operations and research projects Identify when issues need escalation, and report issues appropriately and in a timely manner Perform regular testing and maintenance of all virtual reality equipment Clean and reset all VR equipment between uses Operate events on the CIL schedule, including assisting participants Ensure appropriate opening and closing procedures in the Dreamscape Learn facility Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed to school standards Must be available to work Friday evenings and Saturdays periodically Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent (some post-secondary education in technology, education, or related field preferred) Excellent customer service experience Physical Requirements Normal physical job functions performed in a standard office environment. Position may require occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 20 lbs.
