Part-time Position Summary:
A talented and dedicated Part-Time Church Pianist is needed to enhance worship services and support the music ministry through piano accompaniment. The role involves providing musical leadership and collaborating with church staff and volunteers to create a meaningful and inspiring worship experience.Key Responsibilities:
Provide piano accompaniment for weekly traditional worship service and other special services, such as Christmas Eve and Easter. Accompany the choir during rehearsals and performances. Collaborate with the Minister of Music and other musicians to plan and execute musical selections that align with worship themes and enhance overall worship experience. Coordinate with organist, plan, select, and prepare preludes, offertories, postludes, and other incidental music. Work with the Minister of Music or relevant personnel to coordinate vacations or absences and assist in securing a substitute pianist.Qualifications:
Proficiency in piano performance, including sight-reading and improvisation. Experience in church worship and familiarity with various styles of worship music, including traditional hymns and contemporary worship. Ability to accompany choir, soloists and congregational singing with skill and sensitivity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for worship music and an understanding of its role in a church setting. Reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to scheduled services and rehearsals. Formal music education or equivalent experience is a plus.Hours and Compensation:
This is a part-time position, with an average of 3 hours per week, with additional hours possible for special events and seasons. The hours include the 8:30 am Sunday worship hour, weekly choir practice, and personal practice with the organist. Compensation is negotiable based on the needs of the church and the experience and qualifications of the applicant.Pay:
