Ukulele Songwriting Studio for Kids Seattle, WA Job Details Part-time $90 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Vocal music Behavior management Teaching music Teaching arts Experience with children (1-2 years) Working with children Classroom experience Elementary school teaching Classroom behavior management Entry level Full Job Description After School Audio leads inspiring music classes that serve the mission to "Cultivate Creative Confidence and Awareness in Young Minds." We aim to give kids a great first experience with music, where they learn music primarily by making it. We are opening-up a position for a spiritually-minded individual with songwriting experience to guide a small group of introductory-level elementary-school kids in writing a simple 3-chord song using the ukulele to support their singing voice and inspired creation! Lead activities, games, sing-alongs, and prompts to engage the students in feeling the inspired confidence to unleash their voice, write lyrics, and strum the ukulele! Support confidence-building by encouraging kids to take steps outside their comfort-zone by demonstrating the joy of expression and inviting them to collaborate in order to witness and take-part-in the creative process, in-action. Create positive experiences focussing on simple productive communication and positive reinforcement guidance. Experience working with kids in group settings Experience songwriting Ukulele experience (knowing a few strumming patterns and being able to sing while playing) Excellent classroom management skills to create an engaging and focussed learning environment Each class meets once a week for 1-hour each session (one class is in the Laurelhurst neighborhood and one is on Mercer Island) Join us in supporting the next generation in becoming confident creators, singers and songwriters :)
Pay:
$90.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 2.0 per week
