This person will provide music and accompaniment for scheduled worship services and other activities in support of music ministry of the church. This year-round position is defined as paid per worship service. Expectation of attendance is for Sunday worship service other special services including but not limited to Christmas and Easter. Job Requirements Experience in church worship, including but not limited to piano/organ music. Knowledge of the instruments and keyboard ability sufficient to play hymns. Ability to sight-read and improvise is desired. High degree of musical competence and ability to accompany groups and individuals. Willingness to rehearse sufficiently to maintain a high quality of music. Sensitivity and the ability to interact with a variety of people. Ability to take direction and work as a team member. Ability to communicate well and in a friendly manner with the church leadership and members of the congregation. Accountability The musician is accountable to the pastor of the church. This individual will need to notify the pastor about planned absences. Responsibilities Support the church's worship environment through the well-prepared execution of music. Facilitate congregational singing and worship through the excellent execution of hymns and other songs. Plan, select and prepare preludes, postludes and offertories according to the needs of the worship service. Play for weddings and funerals as requested (and upon availability), being permitted to receive additional compensation from the parties involved. Maintain an accurate account of piano/organ needs and maintenance and notify the pastor. Salary $170 per worship service. Paid vacation Applicants should please contact
